LAGOS, NIGERIA / LONDON, UK – African financial technology company Moniepoint has launched MonieWorld, a new service designed specifically for Nigerians living in the United Kingdom, initially focusing on making it easier to send money back home.

This move into serving the diaspora community marks a significant expansion for Moniepoint, which already provides financial services to millions of businesses and individuals in Nigeria. Company leaders explained that MonieWorld aims eventually to offer a broader range of banking services tailored to the needs of immigrants managing their finances across borders.

The initiative received commendation during a recent visit to Moniepoint‘s UK office by Jonny Baxter, the British Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos. Mr. Baxter highlighted the importance of the Nigerian diaspora to the economic relationship between the UK and Nigeria and endorsed efforts to improve financial connectivity.

He noted that ventures like Moniepoint‘s UK expansion align with the goals of strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries.

Moniepoint CEO Tosin Eniolorunda stated the goal is to support Nigerians abroad. “We want to make their financial lives easier and empower them to continue supporting families and businesses back home,” he said, emphasizing the platform’s focus on providing reliable and clear financial tools.

This expansion comes as Moniepoint, already a major player in Nigeria’s payment system, seeks new areas for growth and looks to serve the needs of Africans globally.
